back in time and see Hawaii's Hidden secrets at the Place of Refuge
National Park (Puuhonua O Honaunau). Travel through the scenic Historic
Roads along the main thoroughfare of ancient days and experience
the way of life from a century ago to our present time. (CITY OF
REFUGE) Ancient Hawaiians who broke the law (kapu) could escape
punishment, usually death, if they could make their way to this
sacred place and be pardoned by the priests (Kahuna). A highlight
of the tour.

the elaborate Bible scenes that were painted in the 1900s on the
walls of St. Benedict's Painted Church to teach Christianity to
the Hawaiians. Around 1900 Father John Berchmans Veighe painted
elaborate scenes from the Bible in the interior of this Gothic style
church as a means to explain Christianity to the Hawaiians, who
could neither read nor write.

and smell the scents of a variety of aromas from many tropical plants
and flowers you will see.
Visit
a coffee plantation and experience Kona coffee from the coffee tree
to the coffee cup and taste the different varieties of coffee that
are available to enjoy as you learn what it takes to produce a world
